Remembering 911

I had only been back in Texas a short time investigating mold claims as an insurance adjuster.

I remember the downstairs office I was working in was almost vacant that September 11th , 2001 morning. I was curious why nobody was there yet; then suddenly another adjuster appeared and said “Come on Lee, we can see it all on the TV in the break room.”

I didn’t know what he was talking about. Then on the television I witnessed live the second plane circle round and fly directly into the second World Trade Center building.

As the towers burned and then suddenly exploded, collapsed and turn to ash and dust, we watched people running for their lives. It was like a scene from the movie “Independence Day”; only this was no movie, it was very real.

It was all so surreal; it was difficult to believe anyone would commit such a heinous act. Even more difficult to understand was how American security could be so inadequate as to allow three commercial airliners to be hijacked for such a destructive purpose.

Over three thousand American lives were lost that day along with the heart break of a nation.

But America also seemed to have a renewed spirit and a resolve to prevent such an event from ever happening again.

Unfortunately, although time has healed much of America’s heart, there are many which have lost their minds with the desire to open borders and allow massive immigration from terrorist countries.

As the saying goes, “How soon we forget”.

Americans must put aside political differences and remember the pain, the suffering and the embarrassment of a false security we experienced that terrible morning seventeen years ago. We must come together and focus on securing our borders, building a Southern wall and vastly restrict both flights and immigrants from known terrorist supporting countries; it’s the only logical and sensible thing to do.

Americans must come to grips with the fact that there is evil in the world and the United States of America isn’t the one generating or committing the evil. That said, we must do whatever it takes to eliminate evil anywhere it exist, no matter the cost or global political fallout.

We are Americans and we are truly great again.

May God bless and protect our great country from those who would do evil against us.
